Rodney Emerson Dyer Wednesday, March 23rd, 1938 - Tuesday, March 29th, 2022 Rodney Dyer, 84, of Grape Creek passed away peacefully at home on March 29, 2022. He was born March 23, 1938 in a railroad boxcar in Eola, Texas to Emerson and Neita Dyer. He married the love of his life on September 5, 1959 in San Angelo, Texas. He picked cotton when he was very young, worked 15+ years for Ponca Wholesale, 10+ years for Tom's Chip, 10+ years for Deli Express, and 5 years for Jim Bass Ford. He quit Jim Bass Ford to take care of mom that had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. He loved to fish, go camping, going to the horse races, really enjoyed going to the casinos. He was a jokester to the point when he actually was telling the truth we often wouldn't believe him. Rodney & his late wife helped his daughter raise their grandsons Mikel, Edward, Fabian & Joshua. Rodney is preceded in death by his loving wife Norma Dyer, his parents Emerson and Neita Dyer, his in-laws AC and Mattie Collins, his two step-sons he raised Ronnie McDaniel and Gene McDaniel, his brother Richard Dyer and his lifelong friend Ray Eaton. Rodney is survived by his daughter Caroline Trejo of the home in Grape Creek, his son Paul Dyer and wife Nancy of San Angelo, Texas. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren Craig Crawford and wife Kathy of St. George, Georgia, JoAnn Daly and husband Jim of Stonewall, Louisiana, Chris McDaniel and wife Theresa of Zephyr, Texas, Caleb McDaniel of Zephyr, Texas, Jeremy Keaton of San Angelo, Texas, Kevin McDaniel and wife Felina of Fort Davis, Texas, Andrew Dyer and wife Kumi of Chula Vista, California, Jillian Dyer of San Antonio, Texas, Mikel Trejo of San Antonio, Texas, Edward Trejo and wife Star of Grape Creek Texas, Fabian Trejo of Grape Creek, Texas, Joshua Trejo and wife Caradee of Austin, Texas, and Garrett Everett and wife Jenna of Lubbock, Texas, 29 great-grandchildren Emma Taylor and husband Tyler, Levi Cribb and wife Misty, Nolan Crawfrd and wife Bethany, Abby, Samantha Nolte and husband Michael, Krystal Todd, Rachel Todd and Juan, Miles, Gracie, Candene, Mikaela, Emmalyn, Ethan, Brian, Damian, Kendrick, Aaliyah, Lilly'Anna, Aurora, Izaiah, Jeramiah, Emerson, Evelyn, Jameson, Jeffery, Caleb, Sloan, Drew and one on the way, 8 great-great grandchildren Emma, Brody, Enrique, Alayna, Anna, Lonnie, Drew, and Carter, also by his brother Johnny Dyer of Loon Lake, Washington, sister-in-law Marsha Dyer of Crestview, Florida, daughter-in-law Bellenda McDaniel of Bertram, Texas, lifelong friend Dorothy Eaton of San Angelo, Texas, lots of nieces and nephews and extended family members, a host of friends and of course our fur babies Honey, Max, Beaner, Mickey D, Babygirl, and Myla. I also want to thank Tammy, Domingo, Debbie, Abbi, Kaelyn & Veronica from St Gabriel's Hospice for taking good care of him. Also Dr Alred for taking care of dad for many years. Graveside Service will be Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 3:00 pm at Lawnhaven Cemetery Under the care of Shaffer Funeral Home
