Bio

Mr. James Hoyt Rainey, 90, of 6 Fourth St. Cedartown, passed away Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004. He was born March 16, 1914 in Polk County and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Mr. Rainey was the owner of Rainey's Transfer in Cedartown for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Eymo Rainey and a son, Randy Rainey. Survivors include his wife, Ethel Mae Rainey; sons, Rick and Wayman Rainey; daughters, Patsy Carter, Phyllis Thompson, Margaret Couch and Janet Spieglemyer; a brother, Thomas Marlin Rainey and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Aug. 21 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Lester Litesey Funeral Home with the Rev. Douglas Maxwell and Rev. Delton Harne officiating. Interment followed in Polk Memory Gardens. The Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
