Thomas Marland Rainey U.S. Veteran Mr. Thomas Marland Rainey, age 88, of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2011. He was born on January 10, 1923, in Cedartown to the late Mr. and Mrs. Jesse and Eymo Rainey. Mr. Thomas Marland Rainey was a veteran of WWII seving as a medic in a field hospital. Mr. Rainey was a retired manager from Dempsey Dairy. Mr. Thomas Marland Rainey is survived by daughters and son-in-laws, Janet and Clifton Cuzzourt and Dottie and Jerry Len Wood; sister-in-law, Frances Edwards; grandchildren, Jeremy and Kristin Cuzzourt, Verena and Jeff Yawn and Kevin Cuzzourt; one great-grandchild, Auden Cuzzourt and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Thomas Marland Rainey is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse and Eymo Rainey; wife, Dorothy Mae Gann Rainey and a number of sisters and brothers. The funeral service for Mr. Rainey will be conducted on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at eleven o'clock in the morning in the Chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Chris Hearne officiating. Interment will follow in the Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery. The U. S. Army Honor Guard will conduct military rites. The family of Mr. Rainey will receive friends on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 from seven o'clock in the evening until nine o'clock in the evening at the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home. The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers; Clifton Cuzzourt, Jerry Len Wood, Kevin Cuzzourt, Jeremy Cuzzourt, Jeff Yawn and Ricky Rainey. Honorary pallbearers will be, Wilburn Brown, Ray Merritt, Mike Cuzzourt and Employees of the City Police Department (past and present), The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for Mr. Thomas Marland Rainey.
