Janice K. Bellew, 72, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. She was born September 13, 1949 at Hemingford, NE to Arnold and Rachel (Klein) Mazanec. Following high school she became a Licensed Practical Nurse. For over 20 years she worked at Box Butte General Hospital and then worked at nursing homes in Alliance, Hemingford, Hay Springs and Rushville. She was married to Mike O'Connor and to this union her children, Sean, Stephanie and Shane were born. She then married Charles Bellew and her children, Renee and Zacary were born. Janice is survived by her children, Sean O'Connor of Chappell, NE, Stephanie O'Connor of Vermillion, SD, Shane O'Connor of Moorcroft, WY, Renee Bellew of Decatur, IL and Zachary Bellew of Alliance, 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Dennis Mazanec of Hemingford. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Charles, and two grandchildren, Cory Michael and Brittany Jean O'Connor. Memorial services will be Saturday, February 19 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bates-Gould Chapel. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Greenwood Cemetery at Chadron.
