Dale John Frederiksen, the son of Hans J. and Mary K. (Petersen) Frederiksen, was born at Wolbach, Nebraska, on October 27, 1915, and passed away at Harlingen, Texas, on February 10, 1985, at the age of 69 years, 3 months and 13 days. His early childhood was spent in the Wolbach and Giltner area. On January 28, 1939, he was united in marriage to Pauline Palmer. He spent 6 years in the Army at Fort Cook and in the 255th Infantry Division in Italy, France and Germany. He received the purple heart on March 4, 1945, in France. Mr. Frederiksen worked 34 years for Swift and Company in Omaha and Glenwood, Iowa. He retired in January of 1982. On April 27, 1969, he was united in marriage to Helen Urban in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Most of his life was spent in the Omaha and Council Bluffs areas. His last five winters were spent in San Benito, Texas. He had been seriously ill since June of 1984. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Alvin and Ellis, and 2 sisters, Mrs. Leila Killinger and Stella Hansen. Those who survive to cherish his memory are his wife, Helen; 2 sons, Larry of Council Bluffs and Guy of Omaha; 3 step-sons, John Ernest and Richard Urban, all of Omaha; 3 daughters, Sandra Peck, and Karen Tedford, both of Omaha, and Vicki Ulmer of Council Bluffs and 2 step-daughters, Carolyn Oklberry and Ellen Griger both of Omaha; brother, Guy Frederiksen of Grand Island and a sister, Leola Ott of Aurora; 29 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and close friends.
