william stephenson wallace was son of Joel joseph wallace.born 1771 in alabama & Eliza esther houston born 1766.Her father one of the original 1735 immigrants in tenn.from ulster ireland.nobility .William married 1824 to cynthia owen born 1807.they had at least 11 children. daughters Elizabeth Ann 1826,Helen Esther 1828,Eliza Jane 1831, Martha Isabelle wallace 1843,Cynthia Emmiline 1845,sons were John Bird 1830,Stephenson Jr 1834,thomas joel 1836,Stephen 1841,Jesse Blackburn 1835,theophilis Stephen 1841,Jesse Henry 1854. They took a wagon train to texas, about 1840 from alabama. Their daughter Martha Isabelle remembered walking most of the way with other children, Their wallace family line goes back to (Adam Wallace lord of Riccarton 1197-1246 )Uncle of william wallace hero of scotland war of independence.. Eliza Esther Houston was aunt of Gen. Sam Houston hero of Texas .She was Williams mother.
