Lois Iola (Lynch) Cavin, 92, passed away on December 4, 2021 at her home in Ramona, Oklahoma. Lois and her twin, Louise, were born March 27, 1929 at the family farm in Rossville, Oklahoma to Alvie and Jessie (Haun) Lynch. Her father, Alvie, and sister, Lona, delivered the twins on a stormy night. Her father passed away when she was very young, and the family moved to Stillwater. She was a graduate of Stillwater High School. Lois married Bill Cavin on August 9, 1952, in a double ceremony with her twin sister, Louise, and Robert (Bob) Kennedy. Lois retired after 18 years as the secretary to the director of nursing at Jane Phillips Hospital in Bartlesville. After Lois and Bill both retired, they had a life of adventure for twelve years traveling the U.S. in their motorhome. Between their trips they would always come back to Ramona which they considered to be home. For years, the Lynch siblings would have annual reunions and Lois and Bill would often take the sisters with them in the motorhome. As a long-time member of the Ramona Chamber of Commerce Lois was honored in 2011 as the Citizen of the Year. She was instrumental in the establishment of the Ramona Senior Center and rarely missed an activity especially the Tuesday gathering for lunch, games, and educational programs. One thing Lois never retired from was her ministry and faithful service at the Ramona Church of Christ where she taught the Toddler Sunday School class for decades. Always an ambassador for her church she would invite people to church and would encourage them to bring their children to Vacation Bible School. Bill and Lois had a special ministry to the senior members of their church and always included them in their family holiday gatherings. As a couple they helped establish the prison ministry over 30 years ago at the Hominy Correctional Facility. Every third Sunday they would teach a lesson, pray for, and encourage the inmates. Always thinking of others, Lois was known for calling people to check in on them and always ended her call with, "What can I do for you?" Lois was known for her wonderful sense of humor, her great sense of direction, her passion for the Oklahoma State Cowboys and her OSU orange lipstick and nail polish. She is survived by her son, Don Cavin, daughter-in-law, Carla, grandson, Mike, all of Dewey, Oklahoma as well as son-in-law, Bud James and granddaughter, Emily James of Fulshear, Texas and granddaughter, Laura Goodman and husband, Karsten, of Plano, Texas. Lois was excited about the upcoming birth of her first great-grandchildren, twins, due very soon to Laura and Karsten. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, grandson B.J., husband Bill, daughter Gayle and her four brothers and six sisters. Lois wanted to publicly thank her wonderful neighbors, Charles and Pat Neal for their friendship, care and for being her storm shelter buddies during those famous Oklahoma storms.
