Bio
Jewell A. Stickel died on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009 in Woodland. She was 88. Mrs. Stickel was born on Feb. 20, 1921 in Rossville, Okla., to Alvie and Jessie Lynch. She was a licensed vocational nurse for 24 years, and worked as a walnut orchard pruner in the 1940s. She was a member of the California Conservation Corps and attended Nazarene Church on when it was on Fourth and North streets. She lived in Knight's Landing, and was a Yolo County resident for 58 years. Mrs. Stickel is survived by daughters Evelyn McNeill of Elverta, and Louise Martinez and husband Carl of Woodland; sons Robert Stickel and wife Larrinea of Yuba City, and David Stickel and wife Mickie of Soledad; sister Lois Cavin of Romona, Okla.; brothers Harold Lynch of Los Angeles, and Robert Lynch of Stillwater, Okla. She is also survived by grandchildren Lori McNeill, Joyce Shepard, Owen McNeill and Alice Drigh of Elverta; Joe Martinez and Sandra Creamer of Woodland; Valerie Hatch, Malerie White, and Tonja Beall of Georgia; Brent Stickel of Modesto; and Kathy Magenhiemer of Robbins. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Stickel; parents Alvie and Jessie Lynch; sisters and brothers Golda Pata, Wayne Lynch, Lona Ashmore, Clyde Lynch, Ruby Furman, Irma McCane and Louise Kennedy; great-granddaughters Cassie Martinez and Sarah Younger; and twin great-grandsons Andrew and Adian Beall. Services: A visitation is scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at Kraft Bros. Chapel, 175 Second St., Woodland. A funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13, at Woodland United Fellowship, 240 N. West St., Woodland. Interment will be at Monument Hill Memorial Park. Donations can be made to the California Conservation Corps, 1719 24th St., Sacramento, 95816. Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors is assisting the family with arrangements.
