Vennia LaVerne (Vennie) Hoffman Fleck, age 78, passed away peacefully November 26, 2021 in Alvin, Texas with her daughter, her niece, and her little Lucy dog at her side. She was born January 24, 1943 to George and Bertie Lee (Salinas) Hoffman. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband James Donald Fleck; sons Donald Wayne Fleck and Gregory Wade Fleck; one grandson Karl David Vasut; brothers Glenn, W.A., Alvin and Marvin; sisters Averill, Annette, and Pauline. Vennie is survived by her daughter Patricia Lynn Crouch (Gerald) of Alvin; grandsons Donald Wayne Fleck Jr (LaTisha), Eric Wade Fleck (Laura) and Kelly Ryan Vasut; grandaughter Sheila Rae Fleck; great grandsons Hunter James Vasut and Wyatt Jameson Fleck; sisters Yvonne Pena and Elizabeth Roland; numerous nieces and nephews. Vennie was a homemaker and seamstress while raising her children, and working alongside her husband with their family Water Well business. After her husband passed away in 1999, she opened her own business in Wharton, Texas where she did clothing alterations, specializing in Wedding and Formal gowns. Miss Vennie as she was known, was applauded for her expertise and beautiful work! She was a perfectionist seamstress. Besides her love for sewing, she thoroughly enjoyed piecing and quilting quilts, jigsaw puzzles, gardening, and canning. Her family was her greatest joy; she loved each and every one and enjoyed the times spent together. She enjoyed her Sundays with Tricia and Gerald attending the Chocolate Bayou Cowboy Church in Alvin, Texas. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus, Texas. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday December 11, 2021, at 11:00 am at Henneke Funeral Home with Debbie Cenko officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband and youngest son in Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery in Columbus. Pallbearers are Wayne Fleck Jr., Eric Fleck, Kelly Vasut, Brett Fulkerson, Tony Roland, and Gerald Crouch. Honorary pallbearers are Hunter Vasut, Wyatt Fleck, Charlie Hoffman, Floyd Hoffman, Tom Roland and Paul Vasut. If so desired, Memorial Contributions may be made to Chocolate Bayou Cowboy Church, 6808 County Rd 172, Alvin, TX 77511.
