Bio
Jerry Loyd "Nub" Peace was born May 19, 1939, in the Woods Community of Panola County, Texas, one of nine children born to Hollis and Vonnie Wilson Peace. Jerry married LaVerne Peace June 3, 1960. Nub sold groceries for Magnolia Grocery for many years, later becoming a store manager for Bell Supply Company in Carthage. Jerry was a long-time member of the Antioch Baptist Church where he led the singing for 17 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and checking his cows. His favorite thing was watching the Carthage Bulldogs on Friday nights. He is preceded in death by his parents, loving wife of 60 years LaVerne Peace, brother, Hollis Peace, sisters, Gertrude Sistrunk, Jimmie Cureton, and Nell Kalichak.
