Bio

Ross Leonard Plock, 80, of Burwell, Nebraska died November 1, 2021 at the Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 4, 2021 at the United Methodist Church in Burwell. Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery in Burwell. Pastor Serene Samuel will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 – 7 p.m. at Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell. Ross was born October 1, 1941 in Valley County, Nebraska to Harry and Irene (Burson) Plock. He graduated from Burwell High School in 1960. After graduation he worked for a phone company. Ross married Karolee Ingraham on September 9, 1962 in Burwell. They lived in Burwell and Ross worked for the Rodeo Telephone Company. They moved into the country in 1985. Ross continued to work for the phone company as it changed hands and retired after forty-four years. He enjoyed amateur radio and his call letters were WDOF. He was a member of the Loup Valley Road Riders Motorcycle Club and the Masonic Lodge. Ross is survived by his wife, Karolee Plock of Burwell, Nebraska. A son, Brad Plock of Hastings, Nebraska and three grandchildren, Cheryl Plock, Wayne Plock and Tracy Brown. Two brothers, Paul and Judy Plock of Burwell, Nebraska, Roger Plock of Sumpter, South Carolina and a sister, Lila Schmidt of Omaha, Nebraska. Ross was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, George, Beverly and Verna.
