Thanks to contributor #47226369 ORD — Beverly Kirby, 69, of Ord died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bethany Lutheran Church. The Rev. Robert Caldwell will officiate. Burial will be in the Ord City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Ord Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Kirby was born June 19, 1936, at Ord to Harry and Irene (Burson) Plock. Survivors of the immediate family include her husband, Kenneth Kirby; a daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Darrell Bremer of Ord; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Randy Kirby of Hastings, Monty and Ramona Kirby of Comstock, Michael and Denise Kirby of Lincoln and Kerry Kirby of Albany, Texas; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Judy Plock of Burwell, Ross and Karolee Plock of Burwell and Roger and Sandra Plock of Sumter, S.C.; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Verna and Harold Jurgensen of Grove, Okla., and Lila and Keith Schmidt of Omaha. She is also survived by her son Kerry's girlfriend, Christy Phillips of Albany, Texas, 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Kirby received her education at rural country schools and attended Ord High School until the 11th grade. In 1954, she graduated from Burwell High School. On April 30, 1955, she married Kenneth Kirby at Burwell. The couple first lived on a farm by North Loup before moving to a farm north of Ord where they resided until 1971. They then moved into Ord, where Beverly made her home until her death. Beverly worked at the Valley County Hospital, Wadja's Rest Home, Veterans Club and cared for many people in the community. Her last employment was at the Ord Grade School as a cook. Beverly was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church. She enjoyed plants, cooking and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, George Plock. The Grand Island Independent on-line - Nov 1 2005
