Frances was born on June 27, 1929 in Spring Ranch, Nebraska to Bessie and Joseph Klauz. She was a proud homemaker and mother to seven children. Her children always came first. She was a devoted daughter and caregiver to her mother Bessie for many years until her passing. Frances married the love of her life, Kenneth Mays at 16 years of age. They were married for 74 years after a courtship of one month. Mom & Dad crossed the state line late at night to get a justice of the peace to marry them. She was a member of the First Pentecostal Church for over 40 years. She was a favorite Sunday School teacher and youth leader. One of her favorite sayings was "When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on". She had the ability to make every grandchild feel special and feel like they had a special place in her heart. Her cooking was outstanding with legendary favorites like: red velvet cake, cherry supreme, apple pie and chocolate gravy with biscuits, and her brisket was always a favorite.
