Bio

Sam Hobbs writes the following (to Adam Turner, Sarah "Sally"'s father): "Dear Father and Mother It becomes my painful duty to inform you that this leaves us all in Deep mourning on account of the Death of Sallie. She died on the morning of the 6th between daylight and sunrise. She gave birth to a fine son about 11 o'clock and died on the morning following. The child weighed 9 1/2 lbs and is to all appearances healthy. The doctor that tended Sally in this child birth was named James Richard. Sam named the newborn after this doctor.
