Unmarked - not documented in this cemetery but most likely burial site as several Osborn's are buried unmarked here.
Samuel is most likely buried in one of several unmarked Osborn graves at New Salem Baptist Cemetery. This entry is mainly here to connect the family. Samuel was most likely born in Laurens County, SC but lived most of his childhood in Carroll County, GA. He died sometime between 1870 and 1880 reportedly from the effects of injuries suffered during the Civil War. His younger brother Langston, Jr. died during the war (both C.S.A.). Samuel married Cyrena (or "Serena") Wright of Hancock County, GA and were living in Carroll County, GA in 1850. By 1860, all but one of Samuel's living siblings had migrated to Marion County, AL, but Samuel and Cyrena were in St. Clair County, AL (possibly close to the Wrights). In 1870, Samuel's family joined those of brother John and widowed sister in-law Tabitha in Tishomingo County, MS. Transcriptions from that census have the family name "Ousberrd" for Samuel and Cyrena's group. Samuel's oldest living brother, William Riley Osborn, did not move from Marion County, AL to Mississippi until closer to 1880 (possibly on Samuel's land), and sister Mary Spradlin was in Clark County, AR in 1870. After Samuel's death (before 1880), Cyrena and most of the children joined her family in Red River County, Texas. Many of Samuel and Cyrena's descendants still live in the Deport, Bogata, and Paris, TX area as well as Hooks and New Boston. Their oldest son, William, and his family were living in Franklin County, AL in 1880, but that's the last information I have on them (I figure they may have moved to Texas as well). The descendants spell Osborn many different ways - most commonly "Osbourn" or "Osborne". After Cyrena's death, an estate dispute between the children, revealed the names of all the living children. Known children of Sam & Cyrena Wright Osborn: 1. Mary Osborn (c1848-?) - listed as age 2 in 1850 census. 2. Martha Emily Osborn Carroll? (c1851-?) - same person as Mary above? 3. William T. Osborn (c1852-?) - living with wife Lucinda (Jones) and family in Franklin County, AL in 1880. 4. Sarah Margaret Osbourn Hopkins (1854-1928) - Texas 5. Nancy Jane Osborn Hignight (1857-1929) - Texas 6. Samuel "Sam" Osbourn, Jr. (1860-1925) - Texas 7. Josephine Tucker "Josie" Osbourn Davidson (1862-1910) - Texas 8. John Osborn (c1863-?) - ?? 9. Hosey Monroe Osborn (1867-1929) - Texas 10. Robert Lee Osborn (c1869-?) - Texas?
