NOTE - BIRTH YEAR IS APPROXIMATE Langston Osborn was born Abt. 1780 Laurens County, South Carolina. He died in 1833 in Fayette or Carroll County, Georgia. He married Mary Little. She was born Abt. 1787, likely in South Carolina, and appears to have died between 1870 & 1880, most likely in Tishomingo County, Mississippi or Marion County, Alabama. She lived with son Langston Y. Osborn in Marion County, Alabama in 1860 but may have moved to Mississippi with another child afterwards. Langston is the son of Daniel Martin Osborn (1730?-1826) and Elizabeth Drew (c1753-bef 1822), who is a descendant of Leonard Langston. Based on family names, Daniel is certainly a descendant of Capt Thomas Osborne, who settled the Henricus Colony, Virginia around 1619. Thomas owned Coxendale Plantation, which is currently occupied by a power plant on the James River at Chester, VA and is the site of Osborne’s Landing. The Osbornes were associated with Thomas Jefferson's family in several endeavors. We know very little of Mary Little. Her family likely traveled to South Carolina from Virginia or North Carolina, but we just don’t know. It’s possible that she’s not a Little and has been confused with Mary Little Riley, who’s birth and death years and travels are very similar. Most of the Littles born before 1800 buried in Laurens County, South Carolina originated from Ireland. Known children of Langston Osborn & Mary Little Osborn include: (Daughter) Osborn (1806-c1810) Daniel Osborn (1810-c1834) William Riley Osborn (1811-1900) - moved to Marion Co, AL, married Susan Holcomb, and later moved to Tishomingo Co, MS. Mary Elizabeth Osborn Spradlin (1816-1880) - married James Spradlin, moved to Marion Co, AL and later Tishomingo Co, MS. James and many of the children moved to Clark Co, AR. Elizabeth "Betsy" Osborn Williams (1819-1875) - married Henry Roland Williams and lived in Carroll Co, GA. John D. Osborn (1822-1895) - married Sarah "Sallie" Jones and moved to Tishomingo County, MS. Samuel T. Osborn (1825-bef 1880) – married Cyrena (or Serena) Wright. Said to have died in Mississippi from long-term injuries suffered during the Civil War. Cyrena and most of the children moved to Lamar Co, TX. They often went by “Osbourn” Langston Y. Osborn (1829-1862) - married Tabitha J. Neely and moved to Marion County, AL. Died in the Civil War. Buried in Virginia. Possible child of Langston & Mary Osborn: Cynthia Osborn Lee (c1815-?) - a Cynthia Osborn married Abner (or Aliner) Lee in Fayette County, GA, but she was not listed in Langston's will.
