Wellington Leader August 31, 1978 A Brownfield teacher who grew up in the Lutie community, Mrs. David Pollard, 48, died Thursday, August 24, in a Lubbock Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was the former Sue Margaret Whitson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Whitson of Lutie. Mrs. Pollard was born April 2, 1930 and graduated from Samnorwood High School in 1947. She had obtained a master of science degree and worked toward her Ph.D. degree while attending Abilene Christian University, Sul Ross University and the University of Illinois. She moved to Brownfield in 1955 and married David O. Pollard, III, February 14, 1969. She taught in Brownfield schools and was a member of the Crescent Hills Church of Christ. Survivors are her husband; two sons, David IV and Alric of Brownfield; her parents, two brothers, Wayne Whitson of Lubbock and Tom Whitson of Amarillo and three sisters, Mrs. Carolyn Baldwin of Kermit, Mrs. Doris Billingsley of Plainview and Laura Whitson of Abilene.
