Bio

SPANHEL, Frank V. of Little River-Academy. Age 80. Died 8/6/1988 (Sat.) in a Temple hospital. Services were held (Monday) at 2 p.m. at the Sheffield Funeral Chapel in Temple. Burial was in the Wilson Valley Cemetery. Rev. Gary Barkman officiated. Mr. Spanhel was BORN 7/7/1908 in Springtown, Bell County. He was a farmer and dairy farmer. In 1958, he opened Academy Welding. He was instrumental in organizing the Academy Farm Bureau in 1942. Served on the school board for 18 years. Married Miss Eleonora Shiller of Thrall on 11/29/1933. SURVIVORS: Wife, Mrs. Eleonora Spanhel of Little River-Academy; 2 sons, Frank V. Spanhel Jr. of Little River-Academy; James (Jimmie) Spanhel of Sparks; 2 daughters, Betty Sitz of Little River-Academy, Pat Ramthun of Gatesville; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
