Dorothy Mae White January 3, 1933 - August 1, 2021 Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Mae White will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at Gravel Hill Baptist Church, Cravens, with Reverends Hardy Estes, Chad Longino and Donnie White officiating. Interment will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Cravens, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale. Mrs. White, 88, of Cravens, entered eternal rest on Sunday, August 1, 2021, in her home with her loving family by her side. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed sewing and gardening, and her passion was serving the Lord. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Maudie Bass; her husband of seventy-one years, Leighton White; two sons, Larry White and Jerry White; two brothers, L. J. Bass and J. T. Bass; and three sisters, Levera Woods, Beatrice Watkins and Leverne St. John. Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include two sons, Donnie White, and his wife, Sheila, of Ball and Gary White, and his wife, Rebecca, of Lake Charles; two daughters, Patricia Mayo, and her companion, Ronnie, of Cravens and Rebecca White, and her companion, Lenny, of Pitkin; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. A time of visitation will be held at Gravel Hill Baptist Church, Cravens, on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at the church on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Pallbearers honored to serve will be her grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be her nephews.
