Leighton White 10/04/28 - 04/27/13 Funeral services for Mr. Leighton White will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 29, 2013 in Gravel Hill Baptist Church, Cravens with Reverends Larry White, Hardy Estes, Chad Longino and Kenny Lowry officiating. Interment will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pitkin. Leighton White, 84, of Cravens entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 27, 2013 in his residence surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was a faithful member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for fifty-five years. He was retired from Leesville Concrete, where he worked for thirty-five years. Leighton loved to fish and spend time with his family and friends. Most of all he loved his Lord and sharing the word of God with others as a layman. He was preceded in death by one son, Jerry White; his parents, Bob and Texana White and three brothers, Huel White, Louie White and Reverend Robert White. Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of sixty-four years, Dorothy White of Cravens; three sons - Donnie White and his wife, Sheila of Ball, Larry White and his wife, Christine of Cravens and Gary White and his wife, Rebecca of Lake Charles; two daughters - Patricia Mayo and her companion, Ronnie Addison of Anacoco and Rebecca Pittman of Gretna; one sister - Doris Wisby of Pitkin; fourteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Friends may call at Gravel Hill Baptist Church, Cravens on Sunday, April 28, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and on Monday, April 29, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m.
