Bio
Funeral services for Mrs. Lavera Woods were held on Friday, December 27, 2013 in Gravel Hill Baptist Church, Cravens, Reverends Larry White, Kenny Lowrey and Arlen Smith officiated. Interment followed in Gravel Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Woods, 89, of Pitkin entered eternal rest on Sunday, December 22, 2013 in Byrd Regional Hospital, Leesville. Lavera was a member of Glade Branch Baptist Church and she was an avid basketball fan. She retired from Calcasieu Bag Plant after twenty years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon "Bo" Woods and her parents, Charlie and Maudie Bass. Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include two sons and daughters-in-law; one daughter and son-in-law of Cravens; two brothers and sisters-in-law; two sisters both of Cravens; six grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Services were under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pitkin.
