PEORIA JOURNAL STAR, Wednesday, December 23, 1931 Elizabeth Twiggs, Fondulac, Is Dead Mrs. Elizabeth Twiggs, 78-years old, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Hilgers, Fondulac Township at 7 o'clock this morning. She was the widow of the late James Twiggs. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., May 17, 1853, the daughter of Samuel and Margaret Allen and resided in East Peoria and vicinity for 30 years. She married James Twiggs in East Peoria, October 13, 1871. He died in that city, August 3, 1921. Surviving are seven children, Mrs. Mary Coltrane, Kimbly, Idaho; Mrs. Myrtle Guggenmon, Ord, Neb.; Mrs. Nellie Bisco, East Peoria; Mrs. John Hilgers, Fondulac township; Earl Twiggs, Anaheim, Cal. and Henry Twiggs, San Diego, Cal. Her husband, James Twiggs served in the Civil War.
