Bio

She was born on October 29, 1934, on the family farm near Seward, Nebraska, to Joseph and Clara (Hotovy) Pavel. Angela grew up in the Staplehurst area attending District 14 Grade School, Staplehurst High School and graduated from Assumption Catholic High School in Dwight, in 1952. She was an inspired cheerleader and volleyball player. Angela married Kenneth Joseph Klein at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Utica, Nebraska and raised five sons, who all survive. The Klein family lived in Seward from 1953-1992. Angela was an avid Cornhusker fan, especially when their son was the starting kicker for the Huskers. She enjoyed gardening, loved all animals especially pet bunny, Snoopy, and Fr. James' conure, Beamer, raising flower gardens, canning, baking (her cinnamon rolls and kolaches were legend), sewing, painting and camping in the Rocky Mountains. Angela was a devout Catholic who was involved in Eucharistic Adoration and was highly active in helping to provide delicious meals as a member of parish-based Funeral Meals and Hospitality Committees. She was particularly well known for providing hundreds of her famous cinnamon rolls as part of many charities. Beneficiaries include, Youth Group mission trips and parish fund raising events. She home-schooled her sons into the faith and was proud to see her son become a Catholic priest in 2002. All her sons graduated from the University of Nebraska and all eventually relocated to Colorado where Angela and Kenneth retired to in 1992. Angela and Ken were members of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Colorado Springs, from which they were both buried, 12 years and one day apart from each other. Their son, Fr. James, presided over both services. Angela was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Clara Pavel; sisters, Anne (Rau), Margaret (Spatz) and Marie (Hottovy); brothers, Joseph and Raymond.
