JORDAN, Mrs. Clifford Elsie Smith (Julian A.) of Rt.1, Thrall. Age 86. Died 1/5/1969 (Sunday) from burns suffered in a home fire. Son rushed her to the Taylor hospital with 3rd degree burns over 90% of her body. Her son received burns on his hands and arms while extinguishing the fire. Services held (Monday) at Condra Memorial Chapel. Burial in Lawrence Chapel Cemetery. She was BORN 10/5/1882 in Thrall and lived in that area her entire life. Member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband, Julian A. Jordan, in 1960; son, J.W. Jordan, in 1954; brother and 3 sisters. SURVIVORS: 7 daughters, Mrs. Dudley (Lena) Currey of Minerva, Mrs. Forest (Bertha) Smith and Mrs. D. (Edith) Stiles of Thorndale, Mrs. Vernon (Birdie) Edwards of Southgate, CA., Mrs. C.E. (Mary) Stanford of Austin, Mrs. William (Margueritte) Bone of El Cajon, CA., and Mrs. Louis (Elsie) Melovich of Lithia, FL.; 2 sons, A.E. Jordan of Lexington and Edgar Jordan of Thrall; 3 sisters, Mrs. Hattie Sanders and Mrs. Oscar Smith of Thorndale, and Mrs. Frankie Horacefield of Houston; brother, Edgar Smith of Thorndale; 26 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren.
