Wichita Beacon, Monday, February 26, 1912, Page 6 DIED WHILE IN PRAYER Wife of Andy Hladik of Greenwich Passed Away While Kneeling Beside a Chair Andy Hladik, a blacksmith of Greenwich, 10 miles northeast of this city, found his wife kneeling beside a chair, dead, when he returned from work Saturday. Mr. Hladik returned home at 9:30 o'clock and found his wife kneeling at the chair seemingly in prayer. She remained in that position so long that her husband became alarmed and went to arouse her. The body was cold and it is believed she had been dead several hours. Coroner M. M. McCollister, who went to Greenwich yesterday, pronounced heart disease the cause for her death. She was 55 years old and had been a resident of this county eight years, coming here from Bohemia. Mrs. Hladik was well when her husband went to work Saturday afternoon. He has a shop a block and one-half from his home. One daughter, residing in Colorado, survives Mrs. Hladik, besides her husband. Roembach Are Snowbound South of Garden Plain. It will be necessary to carry the body of Mrs. Andrew Hladik, who died suddenly in Greenwich Saturday night, to its last resting place in a spring wagon. It was impossible to get a hearse from this city to Greenwich, ten miles southeast, today on account of the snow. The body will be taken to a cemetery eleven miles from Greenwich for burial and it was stated at the Gill undertaking establishment today, where funeral arrangement were made, that it would be necessary to cross fields to reach the cemetery. All roads are filled with drifted snow.
