Bio

EMMA OTELLO FORAL's parents came over from their birthplace, Bohemia (Czechoslovakia). They had five children Tillie, Frank, Joe, Antonia, Emma Otello and Mary. EMMA OTELLO was born Emilie Foral on May 9, 1899 in Babicich (Babice), Czechoslovakia. She was four years old when she arrived in America. Her family settled in Nebraska. She married Burtram Otha Woodard on September 9, 1921, making their home in Omaha, Nebraska. Burtram farmed and serviced in the Civil Service. They had four children, M.Emma, F. Ernest, Robert E. and Georgia A. All being born in Nebraska. They then lived in Tenmile, Oregon; Hawthorne, Nevada; and Greensboro N.C. After her husband's death on June 5, 1956, she lived near her son in Depew, Oklahoma. She spent months with each of her children and their families throughout her lifetime, traveling to Oregon, California and North Caroline. She passed away in Woodbury, Oregon. She was 93. She was grandmother of 16, great-grandmother of 33 and great-great grandmother of 11. She was the beloved mother of Georgia Grimes Verkerk of Pine Grove; Grandmother of Carol Shelton of Oklahoma; Shirley James of Sutter Creek; Steven Grimes of Nevada; Geraldine Davis of Phoenix; Daniel Grime of Lake Tahoe, California and Pamela Grimes Wallace of Valley Springs. A graveside service was held at Pine Grove Cemetery in Pine Grove on Monday, February 15, 1993. Rev. Joseph Schofield officiating, McCrory Funeral Home in charge arrangements.
