Mrs. Georgia Dyess McLain November 18, 1926 - May 5, 2021 Georgia Dyess McLain passed from this earth to her heavenly home where she joined her beloved husband of 73 years, Cecil Ezell McLain, on May 5, 2021. She is survived by her children, Pat Law, Mike McLain, and Jo Ann Nix (Tony), four grandchildren, Brandon Nix (Serena), Jonathan Nix (Jessica), Emily Fiddler (Austin), Rachael Utsey (Bradley) and four great grandchildren, Cooper, Chloe, Camp, and Gatlin. She was born on November 18, 1926 to George and Effie Mae Dyess in Rosinton, Alabama where she lived throughout her childhood. Later, she moved to Robertsdale, Alabama where she graduated from Robertsdale High School, married the love of her life, and raised her children. She began her career at Brookley Field during World War II and later retired from Baldwin County Electric Membership Corporation after many years of service. Through everything she did, she served The Lord with her undying faith and was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Robertsdale where she loved singing in the choir. Upon her retirement in 1984, she moved to Orange Beach, Alabama where she joined the Orange Beach Baptist Church and continued to sing in the choir. After her retirement, she volunteered for many years at Diversicare Nursing Home in Foley, Alabama and was very active in the Orange Beach Community Center where she was known for her amazing coconut pies. She enjoyed living on the water in Orange Beach and spent her days fishing, gardening, playing cards with friends and enjoying life. She adored being "GeGe" to her grandchildren and teaching them to love coffee, and important life skills like fishing, sewing, and cooking. Throughout her life, her selfless love and kindness shined through in her every interaction and was evident to every person she met. If you were lucky enough to have one of Georgia's famous pies, you know that every one was baked with love. Included below is her recipe. Use it to honor her memory and keep the love alive.
