Calvin L Bratton was the 7th of the 9 surviving children of Elijah Patton Bratton and wife Lucinda Elizabeth Fields, and the youngest son. He and some of his siblings appear on the infant baptism records of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Elm Grove, Texas, of which his parents were among the original founding families. Calvin is orphaned at age 7 when both parents die within months nine months of each other. At age 21 he marries Eva Jo Manses in Titus County, TX on 28 Apr 1901. On the 1900 census they are in Fannin County TX where Eva is listed as the mother of 4 children, 1 living. Their only living child is a son, William Farce Bratton, sometimes shown as "Forrest". By WW1 the family is in Logan County Arkansas, where Calvin registers for the draft. The family is on the 1920 Logan County Arkansas census, with Calvin and his wife moving about 1932 to Drumright, Creek County OK, where they are found on the 1940 Drumright, Creek County OK census. His newspaper obit states that he is survived by his wife, one son William F.
