The Banner-Press (David City, Nebr.), April 8, 1982, p. 20, col. 5 Ernest Pabian, 85, services conducted April 2 at Bruno Funeral services for Ernest Raymond Pabian, 85, of Bruno, were conducted Friday morning, April 2, from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Bruno. Mr. Pabian died Tuesday, March 30, at his home following a lengthy illness with cancer. Rev. Daniel Pohl officiated at the services. Music was furnished by the organist, Mrs. Estella Miratsky. Pallbearer were Emanuel Shavlik, Ellis Proskovec, Rudolph Kozisek, Adolph Shavlik, Anton Roubal and Daniel Pabian. Burial was in Sacred Heart, Cedar Hill Cemetery, Morse Bluff. Ernest Pabian, the son of Joseph C. and Lena Pabian, was born June 12, 1896, at Prague. He attended school at Willow Creek in Saunders County. On Sept. 28, 1926, he was united in marriage to Mary Shavlik of Linwood at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Abie. Three sons were born to this union. He farmed in the Prague area until his retirement in 1952, after which time he moved into Bruno and worked with his son in the blacksmith and welding business until his recent illness. He is survived by his wife, Mary Pabian, two sons, Bernard of Bruno and Gilbert Pabian of Phoenix, Ariz.; three brothers, Victor of Wahoo, Leonard of Schuyler and George of Omaha; three sisters, Mrs. Charles (Leona) Hampl, Mrs. .Agnes Hines and Mrs. Libbey Racek, all of Morse Bluff; three grandchildren, Donald and Darrell of Bruno and David Pabian of Phoenix. His parents; an infant son, Marion; two brothers and one sister preceded him in death. His son, Gilbert of Phoenix, Ariz., was among those who came from a distance to attend the funeral services.
