His states on his Draft Record that he was born in Jacinto, Mississippi ... Jacinto would have been in Tishomingo, Co, Miss. ______________ (Obituary published in Longview News-Journal, Longview, Texas · Tuesday, September 06, 1977, Page 6) --- courtesy contributor Edith Guynes Stanley Ess Beard GILMER - Services for Ess Beard, 87, of Gilmer, were 2 p.m. Monday at Hopewell Methodist Church with the Rev. Ervin Scott officiating. Burial was in Hopewell Cemetery. Mr. Beard died Saturday in a Fort Worth hospital after a lengthy illness. A native of Mississippi, he lived in Upshur County most of his life. He was a retired farmer. Surviving are two sons, Don of Fort Worth and Kenneth of Houston; two daughters, Mrs. Shirley Wright of El Paso and Mrs. Erma McWhorter of Big Sandy; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Bryant of Baton Rouge, La., and six grandchildren.
