Rose Hoppell Coppoc, 91, of 2100 N. Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville, died July 16, 2001, at St. Francis Hospital. She was born in Francis, Neb., April 26, 1910, to Elmer and Estella Horan Hoppell. Before marrying Oliver Coppoc in 1934, she taught school in Chambers, Neb. After their marriage, the couple moved to Michigan, where she devoted her life to Child Evangelism and their church. In 1984, they relocated to Florida, where they were members of Fellowship Baptist Church of Deltona, Fla. Rose retired in 1983 as Director of Genesee County Child Evangelism Fellowship. She continually carried the burden for children throughout her life, teaching in local churches and always in prayer. Surviving are her husband, Oliver Wendell Coppoc; two daughters, Deanna Coppoc of Farmington Hills, Mich., and Ruth Harrow of Flushing, Mich.; a son, Duane Coppoc, of Taylors; a sister, Mabel Overton, of Neligh, Neb.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Greenville. Entombment will follow at Remembrance Mausoleum, Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship. Published by The Greenville News on Jul. 19, 2001.
