Martha Jane “M J” Elizabeth Barker King was born in about 1852 in Tennesse. She married Mr. John Vinson King on July 1, 1870 in Gibson, Tennessee. Marriage license shows “M J Barker”. She was enumerated on the 1880 United States Census of the North part of South Fork Township, Howell County, Missouri as Martha J King along with her husband John V King and three of their eight children: Mary C. King; Minnie L. King; and John H. King. Unfortunately, the only historical records that exist after the 1880 Census for Martha Jane are the death records of some of her children where she is listed as Elizabeth Barker. John Vinson King married on April 20, 1893 in Ellis County to Talitha Johnson Hawkins (“Palitha Hawkins”) John Vinson King and Martha Jane Barker were the parents of the following: 1. Mary C King 2. John Henry “C” King 3. Minnie Lee King 4. Jesse William King 5. Samanthy Parlee King 6. Robert Washington King 7. Cyntha Adeline “Addie” King 8. Sarah Elizabeth “Lizzie” King It is unknown exactly when Martha Jane Barker King died or where she is buried. Sarah Elizabeth King was born in Cedar Hill, Dallas/Ellis County, Texas.
