Bio

Rosella Catherine Campo Rosella Catherine Campo, 82, of Boise was born March 3, 1924 in Greeley, Neb. to Ira and Nellie (Barry) Stephens. She attended rural grade schools in the Greeley area and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Greeley. She spent a year at St. Catherine convent in Kentucky then moved with her family to New Plymouth, Idaho in 1947. Rosella married Joseph Campo at St Aloysius Church in New Plymouth on Feb. 20, 1950. They lived on the Campo farm until 1956 when Joe went to work for Joe Henggeler Fruit Farms in Fruitland until January 1965. After a short stay in Salt Lake City they moved back to Boise. After working various jobs in the Boise area, Joe went to work at Hughes Airwest Airlines in 1969. They moved to Seattle in 1974 and to Las Vegas in 1975 working for Airwest and its successor Republic Airlines until retiring in 1985 and moving back to Boise. Rosella worked for many years as a food waitress and never met a stranger. As a member of the Sacred Heart Church she was very active in a number of church functions, especially her community group she dearly loved. She also helped many people over the years, the sick and those less fortunate. She touched many people in her lifetime. Survivors include her husband, Joe of Boise, daughters, Kathleen (Ron) Lyda of Boise, Maureen (David) Stolte of Cashmere, Wash., Colleen (John) White of Boise, son, Gerald (Madelon) Campo of Redmond, Wash.. Grandchildren Jon S. (Delanie) White, Amanda (Elijah) Booth, Joshua Hakenholz, Julie (Richard) Thompson, Kevin (Ginger) Lyda, Nicole (Davis) Richmond, Isaac Stolte, Jacob Stolte. Great grandchildren, Christopher Thompson, Alexis Thompson, Isaiah White, Kobie White, Cynedra Booth, Jeremiah Booth, Drisan Booth, Emily Richmond, Ruth Richmond, Chase Lyda and many cousins. She is also survived by her sisters, Margaret (Joe) Cook of Boise and Helen (Rod) Hall of Portland, Ore., brother Don Stephens of Tucson, Ariz., brother-in-law Art (Agnes) Campo of Fruitland, sisters-in-law, Florence Stephens of Portland, Grace Stephens of Tucson, Ariz., Louise Palumbo of Baker City, Ore. and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Nellie Stephens, brothers, Harold, Lyle and Raymond Stephens, father and mother in law Eugene and Josephine Campo. We wish to thank the great people at Virginia Mason in Seattle for their tender loving care of all categories. For Dr. Rob Gibson and the nurses at Digestive Health Clinic in Boise, St Alphonsus for their services and the people at MSTI and Dr. Montgomery who left a deep impression. Last but not least, the St Luke´s Hospice people who were all great. Also Dr. Mark Johnson and nurse Kathy who took care of us for years at Mt. View Clinic. Vigil service will be held 7 p.m. Friday Oct. 13, 2006 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Please make memorial contributions to Sacred Heart School or Sacred Heart St Vincent de Paul.
