Graveside services for Montie Lee King, 77, are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct., 10, 2007, in Newport Cemetery with the Rev. Leo Potts officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Craddock Funeral Home. She was born on Feb. 21, 1930, in Carter in Beckham County to Waite and Leta Powell Henderson. She passed from this life on Oct. 6, 2007, in an Oklahoma City hospital. She and Lannie Dell King were married on March 16, 1951, in Wilson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Linda Sue King; brothers, Ivan, Fritz, Waite Louis; and sisters, Myrene and Ida. Montie lived in this area most of her life. She enjoyed art, crafts and sewing and was the former owner of Southwest Ceramics. She is survived by two daughters, JoAnn Smithers and her husband, Dale, of Ardmore and Carolyn Dees and her husband, Brian of Marietta; a son, Johnnie Knapp, Ardmore; two sisters, Exie Davis, Marietta and Lou Ella Vandeventer and her husband, Jack, of Lone Grove; a brother, Roy Henderson and wife, Beverly, of Marietta; grandchildren, Jared, DeJon and Ashley Knapp, Melissa Jose and husband, Matthew, Tina Greene, Byron Reed and wife, Gayla, Brian Reed and wife, Kelly, Lindsei Dees; great-grandchildren, Tristen Knapp, Isabella Jose, Gage Reed and Kaden Reed; a sister-in-law, Jackie Henderson, Ardmore; two brothers-in-law, Paul King, Gene Autry and Charles King, Lone Grove.
