Bio

Roxie Onita (Hildebrand) Babek passed from this life on December 26, 2020 at age 88 in Elk City, Oklahoma. She was born on January 4, 1932 to Jessie V. (Dutch) Hildebrand and Oma Belle (Ellison) Hildebrand in Delhi, Oklahoma. Roxie grew up and graduated from Delhi School. After high school she married the love of her life Laddie John Babek on December 13, 1949 at the Delhi Church. She worked as a Bank Teller at the National Bank at Sayre, Oklahoma for 12 1/2 years. Roxie was the secretary of Western Fraternal Life Lodge and a member of the Lake Creek Baptist Church and the Lake Creek Ladies Club. Roxie was a homemaker, an excellent cook, and a wonderful seamstress. She loved cooking and baking for her family. Everyone especially enjoyed her homemade noodles and pecan pies. She enjoyed taking time to sew and make stuffed dolls, and dresses for her granddaughters. Roxie just truly loved spending time with her all her grandchildren and family. Roxie is survived by her son Steven Babek and wife Jo Nita, her brother Roy Hildebrand, daughter-in-law Vickie (Garrett) Babek, four grandchildren: Randa Goodwin, David Babek, Skyler Babek and Mallory Babek, and one great-granddaughter: Elaina Babek. She was preceded in death by her husband Laddie John Babek, her parents Jessie and Oma Hildebrand, a son Russell K. Babek, two brothers Bud Hildebrand and an infant brother Kenneth Hildebrand, four sisters Bonnie Jean Hildebrand, Shirley Killian, Frances Blakely and Eva Dean Richmond. Public viewing for Roxie will begin on Friday, January 1, 2021, 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Peoples Cooperative Funeral Home located on 1400 West Main, Lone Wolf, Oklahoma 580-846-9018. Services are scheduled for Saturday, January 2, 2021, 2:00 P.M. at the Lake Creek Baptist Church in Lake Creek, Oklahoma with Pastor Alvin Funkhouser officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Mangum, Oklahoma.
