Joint w Geneva Ruth Roberts. Dark glossy black stone app. 4' in height.
Bob Franklin Roberts, Sr., was born July 16, 1932, in Pottsville, Ark., to Clyde and Lois Kendrick Roberts. He was the sixth of eight children who grew up in a little house on Crow Mountain. At the age of seven he lost his father. His mother raised the family and taught her children to serve God, love your family, and good old fashioned hard work. Bob passed those values to his own children. Bob grew up to be the very best example of a dad and husband possible, modeling his life after his heavenly father, serving God and others to the best of his ability. He was a natural leader and truly enjoyed giving of himself to others. He taught Sunday School for decades, was a deacon, and as head usher he greeted and welcomed everyone with genuine kindness, never forgetting a name of a person's story. He had an incredible memory, a gift for hospitality, warm smile, and firm handshake which he turned into a ministry that reached hundreds of people over the years. Bob was humble, faithful, kind, and had a great sense of humor, and could diffuse any situation with a sparkle in his eyes and a grin. If he committed to something, you could bet he would be there, and was usually the first to arrive. He gave his all to everything he did, and his committment to his family was at the top of his list. Bob married Geneva Solley on Oct. 4, 1952. Seventy years later she still made his face light up when she walked into a room. He loved her with all his heart and took great pride in taking care of her, and treated her like royalty. Bob is now reunited with his parents, granddaughter Harper Solley Roberts [#116002921], siblings Earl Roberts, Sybil Cook, Ruth Kendrick, Mary Ellen Roberts, and Hazel Prior. Bob is survived by the pride of his life, children Bob, Jr. (Carol), Larry D. (Anita Jo), and Jerry D. (Amber), grandchildren John, Blake, Sarah, Mitchell, Tyler, Halle, and Jax, and three great-grandchildren. Visitation: 4-7 pm Mon., April 4, 2022, at Westfield Chapel Funeral Home, 3236 W.
