Bio
Mary LaVerne Bonner Coker was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She left this world December 18, 2020 at age 80 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was born to David Lee & Sangalli Bonner on January 29, 1940 in Texarkana, TX. After graduating from high school, LaVerne met the love of her life, William Marion Coker, Jr. She and Marion were together for 50 years; they had two children: Darrell and Susie. LaVerne loved spending time in her yard cultivating flowers, and in the kitchen creating delicious meals for her family whom she treasured the most in life, She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and especially loved her role as "Nan". LaVerne's vivacious personality was ever-present and was contagious to others and spread happiness wherever she went. She spent countless hours serving others through Hicks Baptist Church at bake sales and other church activities. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Marion Coker, Jr. She is survived by her son Darrell Coker and his wife Nancy; a daughter Susie Brown and her husband Tim; five grandchildren and seven great-grand children. Graveside services will be Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Ashdown Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Brother Jim Cross presiding.
