Zell (James) Sweat Funeral services for Zell (James) Sweat will be held at 2 p.m.,Thursday, December 17, 2020 in the Six Mile Pentecostal Church with Reverend Louis Robertson officiating. Committal service will follow in the Blue Branch Cemetery under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale. Zell, 84, of Pitkin, entered eternal rest on Monday, December 14, 2020 in Pitkin. She was born April 12, 1936 in Pitkin to the union of Jessie James and Lanie (Deason) James. In 1954, she graduated from Pitkin High School. She was a member of the Fullerton United Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed her family and they had a happy private life. Zell loved cooking; she made the world’s best chocolate cake with banana slices. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Lanie James; her husband of 64 years, Leamon Earl Sweat; two sisters, Vera McCauley and Faye Ruble; great grandbaby, Hope Johnson. Those left behind to cherish her memory are five children, Leamon Keith Sweat and his wife Tammy of Sulphur, Carol Ann Sweat of Pitkin, Yolanda Johnson and husband Ricky of Pitkin, Joey Dewayne Sweat and his wife Shirley of DeQuincy and Alvin Ray Sweat and his wife Catherine of Pitkin; one brother, Ray James of Pitkin; twelve grandchildren; thirty-three great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends. Pallbearers to serve will be Jason, Dustin, Damian, Chase, Jake and Slade. Honorary pallbearers to serve will be Hobie, Dylan, Brock, Bryce, Hank, Clay, Gage, Kash, Gavin, Grant, Gates, Rigyn, Ryder, Reese and Gibson. Visitation will be held in the Six Mile Pentecostal Church onThursday, December 17, 2020 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m.
