Bio

Christine Branch Stahl, age 91 of Winchester passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020 at The Waters of Winchester. She was born on June 1, 1929 in Moore County to the late John Henry Branch and Annie Patterson Branch. Christine was a member of Winchester First Baptist Church and was very active in her Sunday School class. In her younger years, she enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking and going to the beach with her husband. She loved holidays, especially Halloween, when she would give pecans to the trick or treaters. She was a fan of the Atlanta Braves and Nascar and loved to watch ice skating on tv. Christine was the original social media as she listened to the local police scanner and radio to keep everyone informed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Stahl, Jr. and siblings, Claude Branch, Cecil Branch, Paul Branch, Robert Branch, J. C. Branch and Alton Branch. Survivors include her son, Eddie D. (Glinda) Stahl of Kelso; daughter, Pennye Champion of Virginia; grandchildren, Devon Greenan, Candace Swanson, Amanda Wadel, Dagny Scott and Logon Champion; great-grandchildren, Ben, Baleigh, Sean, Avery and Emma; siblings, Freda Limbaugh of Winchester and Wayne Branch of Old Hickory; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 10-11 AM Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 11 AM. Interment will be at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
