Note: I am entering Darius Firth here as a possible burial location. If anyone can confirm the burial here or elsewhere, that information would be most welcome. ~~~~~ Grand Island (Nebraska) Independent Monday, 21 September 1903, page 4 Brakeman Killed Darius Firth, a Burlington brakeman, was killed at Aurora yesterday by being caught between the bumper of a caboose and an engine. Two engines and cabooses were being made up to be sent to Ravenna to bring down some cars. Firth appears to have been making the coupling between one of the engines and one of the cabooses when in some manner he was caught and frightfully injured in the abdominal region. He lived but a short time. Mr. Firth was unmarried, but was engaged to be united in wedlock in the near future to a young lady from Aurora.
