Orville C. Firth Rites Tuesday Auroran 66 Years Is Taken Saturday; Was Painter and Paper Hanger Funeral services for Orville C. Firth, 70, who died Saturday in the local hospital were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Chapman-Higby Chapel. The Rev. K. E. Harris of the Christian church officiated. W. H. Menzie accompanied by Mrs. C. L. Whitney sang, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beautiful River." Orville C. Firth, son of Prince Albert Firth and Eliza Firth, was born in Pike county, Ill., April 5, 1882, and passed away at the Aurora hospital Saturday morning, April 12, 1952, at the age of 70 years and 7 days. He came with his parents to Hamilton county when four years of age. He made this his home most of his lifetime. He was married to Florence Davis, who passed away several years ago. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. Those left to mourn his passing are one brother, C. C. Firth of Hampton, several nieces and nephews and many friends. Pallbearers were Otho Anderson, Clarence Anderson, E. R. Breninger, Emory Rejcker, A. L. Andrews, Clarence Van Wormer. Interment in Aurora Cemetery. Source: Aurora News-Register , April 18, 1952
