Bio

Edward ‘Ed' Timothy Wentrcek Edward "Ed" Timothy Wentrcek, 87, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle and friend, was called home to the Lord on Sept. 10, 2007. He was born on Aug. 13, 1920 to Edward and Angeline Kropp Wentrcek in the Davilla Community. He married Mary Adamek on Oct. 1, 1940. They lived in the Davilla Community for 10 years. In 1950, they moved to Friendship and lived there until 1971, when they moved to Granger. With the exception of serving in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946, Edward spent his whole life farming and ranching in the Friendship/Granger area. Edward served on the Board of Directors of the Texas Farm Bureau for many years. He was also an active member of the Granger Brethren Church serving many years on the Board of Elders. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Marvin Wentrcek. He is survived by his loving wife Mary of 66 years and 11 months; one son, Jimmy Wentrcek and wife Linda; daughter, Linda Wilhelm and husband Victor, all of Granger; two granddaughters, Tina Alexiou and husband Tasos of Round Rock and Aimee Skrhak and husband Timothy of Granger; one grandson, Michael Wentrcek of Granger; one great-granddaughter, Kaelyn Wentrcek of Lockhart; and one great-grandson, Victor Alexiou of Round Rock; sisters-in-law, Margaret Klepac of Aransas Pass, Kathryn Adamek of Granger and Dorothy Adamek of Grand Prairie; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Serving as pallberers are his nephews, Mark Kenne, Larry Klepac, Randy Adamek, Daniel Brosch Jr., Adam Jezisek and Aaron Jezisek; and family friends, Melvin Marek and Larry Svehlak. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Marek, Timmy Jezisek, Alvin Kubala, Anton Schwertner, Leslie Loessin, Albert Kotrla, Sonny Lynn Nelson and Johnny Volcik. Visitation was on Wednesday, Sept. 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Condra Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, Sept. 13, at 2 p.m. at Granger Brethren Church with the Rev. Albert Michalik and the Rev. Charles Amos officiating. Burial will follow in Granger Brethren Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Granger Brethren Church, Granger Brethren Cemetery Fund or a charity of your choice. Condra Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
