Donna Mae Garton, 57, of North Platte, died Wednesday April 9, 1997, at a Lincoln hospital. The funeral was today at 11 a.m. at Christensen-Bridgeport Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Jonathan Seng officiating. Burial will be at Oregon Trail Memorial Cemetery at Bridgeport. Memorials may be made to the family. Garton was born June 1, 1939, at Greeley, Colo., to James Oliver and Goldie Mae (Reeder) Neeley. She grew up and received her education at Pierce, Colo. She married Gary Lee Garton April 8, 1956, at Pierce. They lived in many communities, mainly Cheyenne, Wyo. While living in Pinedale, Wyo., she was a volunteer for the Forest Service. They lived in Bridgeport 15 years before moving to North Platte in 1993. She worked at Cedar Bowl in North Platte. She was active in Alanon in Scottsbluff, Bridgeport and North Platte. She was also a member of Eagles Auxiliary Aerie No. 2839. Survivors include her husband; sons and daughters-in-law: Ricky R. and Karen F. Garton and Toby L. Garton, all of North Platte, and Todd Allen Garton of Cheyenne; mother Goldie Daniel of Durango, Colo.; brother and sister-in-law Bobby and Carrie Achilles of Auburn, Calif.; stepbrother and sisters-in-law Lester and Urlke Daniel of Ignacio, Colo.; grandchildren Bo T., Ryan J., Ambur L., Shayla M., and Luann R. Garton, brother-in-law Dennis Decker of Minden, and relatives in Cheyenne County. She was preceded in death by her father, brother Roy Neeley and sister Janice Decker.
