Born 14 Dec 1871 died 1939. ∼ Published in the Ord Quiz, Ord, Nebraska, Thursday, Nov 20 1951 Funeral Rites for Vincent Suchanek Funeral services were held Saturday morning in the Geranium Catholic church for Vincent Suchanek, who died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 1951, in Ord. Rev. Michael Szczesny was in charge. Rosary was said on Friday evening in the Hastings-Pearson mortuary. Burial was made in the Ord Catholic cemetery. Vincent Suchanek was born May 24, 1862 in Czechoslovakia. His father's name was Matt Suchanek. In 1875, at the age of 13, he came with his parents to the United States and settled near St. Paul, Nebr. In 1905 he came to Valley County and settled on a farm near Ord. In 1888 in Midway, Nebr., he was married to Marie Blaha, who died in Ord in 1939. In 1934, the family moved to Ord. Of later months he had been in the home of his son, Joe, and family, where he passed away. He leaves three sons, Joe of Ord, Vencil of Hastings and William of Cheyenne, Wyo., six daughters, Mrs. Agnes Desmul of Ord, Mrs. Lillian Petska of Ord, Mrs. Mary Desmul of Blaine, Wash., Mrs. Stacy Schultz of Cheyenne, Wyo., Mrs. Emma Schultz of Portland, Ore., Mrs. Alice Zabloudil of Portland, Ore.; also 25 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. Also left in the family is one brother, Bob of St. Libory, and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Cullen, Hemingford, Nebr., and Mrs. rose Bartunek, Wolbach. Mr. Suchanek was a member of the Catholic Workman's organization.
