Gazette Telegraph, Colorado Springs, CO Thursday, September 13, 1979 page A4:3 Mrs. Mary E. Desmul Mass of Christian Burial for Mary E. Desmul, 83, of 2701 Logan Circle will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. John Walsh, celebrant. Entombment will follow in Evergreen Shrine of Rest Mausoleum. Mrs. Desmul died Tuesday in a local nursing home. She was born Feb. 2, 1896, in St. Paul, Neb., and came to Colorado Springs in 1974. She graduated from Kearney (Neb.) State Teachers College in 1916 and was married on Jan. 19, 1919, in Ord, Neb. Mrs. Desmul was a rancher in Lynden, Wash., and had lived in Bellingham, Wash., after her retirement. Mrs. Desmul was a member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of America. Her husband, Rene G. Desmul, died in 1975. Surviving are two daughters, Marianne Ferris of Summit, N.J., and Louise Avey of Houston, Texas,. a son Vern Desmul of Colorado Springs; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four grand-nephews,a nd one grandniece. Swan-Law Funeral directors is handling arrangements.
