Gilbert J. Grieger, 81, of Taylor passed away at his residence on November 2, 2005. Rosary will be 6:00 PM, with visitation 6-8 PM Thursday, November 3, 2005 at Providence Funeral Home Chapel. Celebration of Life Mass will be 10:00 AM, Friday, November 4, 2005 at St. Mary s Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Lonnie Urban officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary s Catholic Cemetery. Gilbert Joe Grieger was born on February 17, 1924 in Williamson County, Texas to John and Julia (Shiller) Grieger. He proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII. He married Alice Marek on August 9, 1949 in Taylor, Texas. This marriage was blessed with four wonderful children. Gilbert was a member of St. Mary s Catholic Church, The KJT, Catholic Life, and The American Legion. He enjoyed gardening, walking the hike and bike trail, but his greatest love was the time spent with his grandchildren and most recently his great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Barbara Grieger; sisters, Edith Barrett and Georgie Chalupa. Gilbert is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Alice; a son, John D. Grieger and wife, Shauna of Great Falls, Montana; daughters, Judy Whatley and husband, Glen of Taylor; Marie Richter and husband, Ken of Taylor; sisters, Lorene Leshikar of Taylor, Jerlene Taylor and husband, Jim of Montgomery; Anna Johle and husband, Ken of Manor; grandchildren, Keith Whatley & wife, Heather of Thorndale, Julie Whatley of Taylor, Jennifer Prinz & husband, Scott of Taylor, Laura Whatley of Montgomery, Lance Richter and wife, Khris of Taylor, Joshua Richter of Taylor; Garrett Grieger and Lindsay Grieger of Great Falls Montana; great grandchildren, Tyler Prinz and Miranda Richter both of Taylor.
