Lorene Anna (Grieger) Leshikar, 84, of Taylor, Texas, died Saturday morning, Nov. 6, 2010, at Scott and White Hospital in Temple. Family visitation was held Monday, Nov. 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Providence Funeral Home Taylor. Celebration of life services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 9 at 1 p.m. at Providence Funeral Home Chapel in Taylor with Pastor Dudley Marx officiating. Burial will follow at the Taylor City Cemetery. Lorene Leshikar was born March 27, 1926 to John and Julie Grieger in Los Angeles, Texas. She loved the outdoors and reminiscing about her childhood memories. She was a loving, generous, caring woman who was dearly loved. She enjoyed shopping, taking long rides in the country and being around her family. She loved listening to her Czech music. Lorene married Willie Leshikar Jr. July 25, 1946. Survivors include two daughters: Maureen Lourcey and husband Lou and Sandra Obrecht and husband Dwight; two sons: Willie Leshikar III and wife Yolanda and Bobby Leshikar and wife Beth; two sisters: Jerlene Taylor and husband Jim and Anna Johle and husband Ken; three sisters-in-law: Dorothy Kaspar, Evelyn Leshikar and Alice Grieger; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents, John and Julie Grieger; husband Willie Leshikar Jr.; sisters Georgie and Edith; brother Gilbert; infant brother John and granddaughter Sandy Lourcey. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Jerry Leshikar, Bo Leshikar, Casey Lourcey, Dr. Eric Leshikar, Kris Leshikar and Brian Fikac. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association in Lorene's name.
