Bio

Ila Juanita Steward was born May 23, 1919 in Cordell, Washita County, Oklahoma; one of six children born to the farm family of Jessie Brent Steward and Lillie Mae (Henshaw) Steward. Ila married Waldo Snider on March 10, 1938 in Vici. They were married eight or nine years. On December 30 1948 she married Ray H. Trent, II. They shared 52 years of marriage. In all there were six children in the family, eleven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. On May 3, 1999 the family lost their home to a tornado. Ila was a Rosie the Riveter during World War II and was later employed at Tinker Field, retiring in 1975. She was a member of Sunnylane Methodist Church Women's Group. Her hobbies were sewing, crocheting and ceramics. Her favorite song was How Great Thou Art. Ila Juanita (Steward) Snider-Trent was inducted into the CENTENARIANS OF OKLAHOMA HALL OF FAME having reached the age of 100 years.
