BURIED NEXT TO WILBERT OTTO REICHENBACH (#21601585), HER HUSBAND.
Velma Hurta Reichenbach, 95, of Taylor, Texas, was received into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on June 3, 2019. She was born October 23, 1923, in Taylor, Texas, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Married November 17, 1945, Velma and her husband, Wilbert, had a loving marriage for 69 years and were partners in parenting, business, and life. They were the owners of Reichenbach's Grocery for 40 years. Velma's main focus in life was family. With six children, many afternoons were spent cheering at the ballpark or supervising in the grocery store. In her later years, one continual joy was Thanksgiving at which all her loved ones would join together for food, fellowship, football, and dominoes. As a child, Velma loved learning but had to quit school to help work the farm. As an adult with a strong desire to learn, Velma pursued education on her own and eventually earned her Texas real estate license. As there is always more to learn, Velma continued pouring through books for both expertise and pleasure. Her work ethic was demonstrated throughout her life as a mother, grocery store owner, and realtor. Velma is survived by children, Roy Reichenbach and wife, Mary, Don Reichenbach, Patricia Reichenbach, Michael Reichenbach and wife, Diane, and Kelly Reichenbach and wife, Earline; grandchildren, Carrie Soppe and husband, Clint, Robin Biggerstaff and husband, Joel, Christopher Reichenbach, Kimberly Krutka and husband, Dan, Clayton Reichenbach and wife, Emily, Jennifer Reid, Russell Reichenbach and wife, Shanda, Raeann Murray, Lindsay Reid, Ryan Reichenbach and wife, Allison, Wade Murray, Kyle Reichenbach, Leigh Ingram and husband, Drew, Klint Reichenbach, Kory Reichenbach, and Walter Murray; great-grandchildren Isaac and Isla Soppe, Autumn Dreymala, James, Joe, and John Biggerstaff, Quinn Reichenbach, Ryan, Reagan, and Russell Reichenbach, Kennedy and Adalynn Reichenbach, and Lily Ingram. Velma is preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert; and daughter, Linda Kay Reid; her and Wilbert's parents; sisters; brothers; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces; and nephews. Pallbearers are Chris Reichenbach, Clay Reichenbach, Russell Reichenbach, Ryan Reichenbach, Wade Murray, Kyle Reichenbach, Klint Reichenbach, Kory Reichenbach, and Walter Murray. Celebration of Life services will be held on Friday, June 7, 2019, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Taylor, with burial at Taylor City Cemetery. Special thanks go to Leroy Reichenbach, Wilbert's brother who worked at Reichenbach's Grocery near its beginning and, along with his family, Monee, Buddy, Brayden, and Rylee Michna, who were always happy to give a helping hand to Velma and family. Particular appreciation is given to Rev. Dr. George R. Qualley, who visited, uplifted, and ministered to Velma the last two years.
