Wilbert O Reichenbach, 90, of Taylor was received into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father on November 27, 2014, surrounded by his family. He was born December 20, 1923, in Taylor, Texas. He was the owner of Reichenbach's Grocery for 40 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He never met a stranger, always greeting everyone. Wilbert was a self-taught musician playing the piano, drums, accordion, and banjo. He was a professional singer and loved to sing country and western as well as Czech songs, playing in bands around the Taylor area. Wilbert even became a one-man band, playing dances, church socials, and anniversaries. Wilbert strongly believed in giving of himself and volunteered at St. Paul Lutheran Church as President of the Church Council and in the choir as well as performing at local charities and rest homes. He also served as a school board member in Taylor Independent School District and was President of the Rotary Club. Wilbert is survived by his loving wife, Velma Hurta Reichenbach, with whom he shared a loving marriage for the past 69 years. He is also survived by children, Roy Reichenbach and wife, Mary, Don Reichenbach, Patricia Reichenbach, Mickey Reichenbach and wife, Diane, Kelly and wife, Earlene Reichenbach; grandchildren, Carrie and husband, Clint Soope, Kimberly and husband, Dan Krutka, Russell and wife, Shanda Reichenbach, Chris Reichenbach, Clay and wife, Emily Reichenbach, Ryan Reichenbach, Raeann Murray, Wade and wife, Kacie Murray, Leigh and husband, Drew Ingram, Joel Biggerstaff, Jennifer Budge, and Lindsay Reid; great-grandchildren, Autumn, James, and Joel Biggerstaff, Ryan and Reagan Reichenbach, and Kennedy Reichenbach, and Isaac Soope; and brother, Leroy Reichenbach He is preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Kay Reid; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Reichenbach; and his sister, Clara Widmer. Visitation will take place from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2014, at St. Paul Lutheran Church Celebration of Life services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2014, at St. Paul Lutheran Church with burial to follow at Taylor City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the charity of choice.
